Second-hand Nintendo NES sells for US$13,105 on eBay

Woman sells old NES for record price

Sometimes, Christmas comes very early indeed. A woman in the US has managed to sell a second-hand Nintendo Entertainment System and five games for the astounding sum of US$13,105. Turns out that one of the titles in her tatty collection was Bandai's super-rare Stadium Events -- a holy grail among collectors. The other games were Major League Baseball, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2, Super Mario 3 and Super Mario Bros/Duck Hunt.

The original listing seems to indicate that the seller had no idea her goods would go for such a high price. Stadium Events is simply mentioned along with the other four, with no emphasis or fanfare.

Amusingly, she also states the following: "We have managed to misplace the AC cord and television hook up but [if] I find them, I'll send them along with the rest at no additional charges to you." Good thing she mentioned it -- if it wasn't for the free postage, we're sure nobody would have lodged a bid.
