Michael Jackson: the video game?

Jimi Hendrix and Michael Jackson make video game headlines

Two bits of news this morning about two different dead musicians -- first, the late Jimi Hendrix is coming to Rock Band. Second, the departed Michael Jackson's $200 million estate deal with Sony could lead to video games.

The Hendrix news comes from a Rolling Stone article. The Axis: Bold As Love pack hits Xbox 360 on March 30 and PlayStation 3 on April 1. Additionally, Hendrix's estate worked out an agreement that could introduce a Hendrix avatar to the game and bring about more replica instruments.

Here's the song list -- available as both standalone tracks or as an album. The original album opener, "EXP" isn't on the list and when this DLC makes it to LEGO Rock Band, "Up From the Skies" and "Valleys of Neptune" will be cut, too.

"Up From the Skies"

"Spanish Castle Magic"

"Wait Until Tomorrow"

"Ain't No Telling"

"Little Wing"

"If 6 Was 9"

"You Got Me Floatin'"

"Castles Made of Sand"

"She's So Fine"

"One Rainy Wish"

"Little Miss Lover"

"Bold As Love"

"Valleys of Neptune"

Meanwhile, an article from The Independent analyzing the $200 million deal between Michael Jackson's estate and Sony claims that the contract includes "the right to release 10 new Michael Jackson albums, video games and DVDs between now and 2017."

That doesn't necessarily mean we're going to see new Michael Jackson games; but plenty of people may be happy enough with a Michael Jackson's Moonwalker re-release.
