Mario Kart: Double Dash (which was released last week) has been an immediate smash hit, going straight to the top of the Australian GameCube charts and even placing second on the all-format chart. There's more Mario action coming in December with Mario Party 5 looking like another fun party game.

Meanwhile, Nintendo Australia have just updated their GameCube release schedule for 2004 and Mario again features prominently, with Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour landing in February.

Kirby, another favourite Nintendo character, will be getting a new game - Kirby's Air Ride - in March, while the long-awaited return of Final Fantasy to a Nintendo console also happens in March with the release of Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles.

The GameCube mystery title is the highly anticipated snowboard game 1080 Avalanche, which was on the schedule for a December release but has now disappeared. More news on that when we have it.
