Microsoft: Xbox 360 game lineup 'stacked' this year (News)

08/02/2008 19:01:59

Microsoft Game Studios president Shane Kim talked all things Xbox in 2008 at the DICE summit on Thursday.

When asked if the Xbox 360 release schedule was lighter in 2008 compared to last year, Kim said, "I think the pipeline is very stacked [this year]. You just don't know about it yet," suggesting that Microsoft is set to announce a number of new games.

But as far as their current priorities go, Kim said Microsoft will focus on promoting Halo Wars, Alan Wake, and Fable 2 in 2008.

Speaking of the competition, Kim said, "I don't think anyone should underestimate Sony. To count them out would be a foolish mistake."

When asked about Nintendo's dominating success, Kim praised the Wii for expanding the industry, but doubted the console's long-term viability like so many before him. "I think it's way too early to declare a winner here," he said.
