Nintendo quiet on second-half game lineup for Wii (News)

"Nintendo hasn't shared any plans for the second half of the year, but we'll have more to share soon," a representative told GamePro on Friday before declining further comment.

In January, Nintendo released its first half of 2008 game lineup for Wii, which included heavy-hitters like Smash Bros. Brawl, Mario Kart Wii, and Wii Fit, in addition to numerous unknown titles.

Since first launching 16 months ago, the Wii has seen more high-profile first-party games than any Nintendo system before it.

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (originally a GameCube game), Pokemon Battle Revolution, Metroid Prime 3, Smash Bros. Brawl, and a slew of Mario games including Galaxy, Party 8, and Strikers Charged have already been released.

With Mario Kart Wii, Wii Fit, and WiiWare impending, many gamers are left to wonder what Nintendo might have up its second half sleeves.

A quick Wikipedia search doesn't reveal much, either. Recognisable titles with fall prospects include Animal Crossing, Kirby, Super Mario Stadium Baseball, and the elusive Disaster: Day of Crisis.

Either Nintendo expects gamers to keep playing the fan favourites for the rest of the year, will rely on third-parties to pick up the slack, or will perhaps unveil some new ideas.

We'll know more soon. In the meantime, be grateful for what you got.
