If you're tired of all these Wii accessories, you can sleep soundly now that Nintendo president Satoru Iwata said that his company, at least, is done making them for a while.
The line will be drawn with the upcoming Wii MotionPlus add-on, which Iwata promised would be "affordable" when it launches alongside Wii Sports Resort next spring.
"We're going to try to offer [MotionPlus] for as little as possible. We haven't announced the price yet, but the cost of making the Wii Motion Plus is not that much, so I think we can make it very affordable," Iwata told the Wall Street Journal.
No pricing information is currently available for the accessory, which allows for 1:1 motion controls and higher precision interaction with as-of-yet unannounced Wii titles.
So if anyone is envisioning new Wii cooking utensil accessories, or Wii Sports Gear, you can stop right now. Iwata said Nintendo would cool down its accessory binge, at least for now.
"Most of the ideas for accessories that we had initially come up with are out now," Iwata said. "We might think up some more, and we might make them if we do, but we don't have any plans to release a whole lot more."
