At the 2008 Spring Showcase in San Francisco on Tuesday, Microsoft confirmed its "blockbuster" Xbox 360 games for release this fall, namely Gears of War 2, Too Human, Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise, Fable 2, Banjo and Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts and Ninja Gaiden II.
Headlining the event Tuesday is Gears of War 2, which is set for release this holiday. Epic Games designer Cliff Bleszinski will be in attendance to demonstrate the campaign mode and unveil a batch of fresh screenshots and video, which will have uploaded soon.
As previously leaked, Microsoft officially announced Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts for release this November on Xbox 360. The new once Nintendo game promises to "break all the rules of traditional platform games" with a heavy focus on vehicles.
Microsoft also announced Viva PiAħata: Trouble in Paradise Tuesday, scheduled for release this September. The sequel to the under-appreciated original released in 2006 will feature online multiplayer, a coop mode, and utilize the Xbox 360 Vision Cam for importing new pinata species into game.
It was also revealed that Too Human will be launching on August 19. Additionally, Silicon Knights will showcasing for the first time Tuesday the game's online cooperative mode via Xbox Live.
Rounding out Tuesday's event are expected updates on Fable 2 (holiday 2008), Ninja Gaiden 2 (June 3), and the first episode of Penny Arcade Adventures over Xbox Live Arcade (May 21, US$20).
"This is just the beginning of what promises to be another landmark year for games on Xbox 360," said Microsoft in a statement. "Stay tuned for more announcements in the coming months."
