In an official Bungie podcast published on Monday, co-hosts Brian Jarrard and Luke Smith all but confirmed a "new game announcement" for July 14, the same day as Microsoft's E3 Press Conference.

After Smith lamented the lack of new game announcements at the end of the podcast, Jarrard playfully asked, "Isn't there something going on July 14?" implying that an announcement would be made that day.

Smith replied by saying, "Yeah, around then," to which Jarrard added, "That's sticking in my head for some reason. Guess we'll have to see."

Incidentally, both Microsoft and EA are holding their respective press conferences on Monday, July 14 — the day before E3 officially opens its doors.

The last game developed by Bungie was the Xbox 360 exclusive, Halo 3. Shortly after its release, Bungie terminated its partnership with Microsoft in favor of becoming an independent developer. The Halo creator has remained committed to developing for Xbox 360, however.
