South Australian game designers have the chance to win up to $40,000 in funding for the creation of a game for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) Web site.

The five production teams judged to have the best ideas will be commissioned to develop their games for the ABC's Game On site.

Judges will be looking for games that "innovate in subject matter and style", wireless possibilities, and evidence the production team can develop the game, according to the ABC.

Entries must include a description of gameplay, storyboard, proposed production techniques, hardware and software to be used, and details of the production team.

The competition was previously open to Victorians. The games of the winning Victorian developers are currently featured on the Game On Web site.

Entries for Game On SA can be made via http://www.abc.net.au/gameon until 5pm (CST) April 2.

Winners will be announced on May 14.
