LittleBigPlanet quietly delayed on PS3 until late 2008 (News)

Multiple reports, including Sony's own European PlayStation blog, suggest that LittleBigPlanet has been pushed from "early 2008" to "September or October."

"A demo of LittleBigPlanet for PS3 is slated for the PlayStation Network this fall. The full version will follow in early 2008."

That's what Sony said in March, regarding the creative PS3 platformer. Unfortunately, a demo never came, and a delay of the full version appears to have been all but confirmed this month.

Three Speech, Sony Europe's unofficial PlayStation blog, first reported the delay saying the game would arrive in "September or October." It was unclear, however, if the delay was exclusive to European shores.

EGM, intended for American audiences, reinforced the Three Speech report in their January issue listing the game's release date as "sometime in 2008."

While Sony was not immediately available for comment, a release date in late 2008 seems probable.

LittleBigPlanet lets players control bite-size characters while shaping user-created environments, either individually, collaboratively, or competitively.
