Nintendo DS has been a rousing success, and Wii looks like it'll do the same. I'll be getting a Wii and I enjoy the DS. My brother's DS anyway, damn lack of job. But what I was wondering was, where does Nintendo go from here?
With both DS and Wii they're offering gamers something new in the controls department, and that's what sets them apart from the competition. But what will Nintendo's next console and handheld be? You've spent the entire console generation hammering on about how Wii and DS are new ways to play and how great it is. But if you just bring out a new console with same controls and better graphics, people might be a bit reluctant to pick it up, after all, it's nothing new, it's just the same old revolutionary control but with prettier pictures. It won't have anything like a brand new interface to distinguish itself from the competitors.
And you can't really come out with a new control scheme, because people might say that they've just spent the previous generation getting used to a new one and aren't ready for another one just yet.
