I am currently living in South Australia and i own a gamecube as well as a PS2 and XBOX. I have hit a bit of a snag in the process with my gamecube as there are many games that i wish to purchase but i cant find them in Australia.

My question for anyone with an answer is.....

If i purchased my Gamecube in Australia will it be able to play games from a different region? (ie: if i was to buy a game from the US?)

If you have a helpful answer then can you please e-mail me at

Hi Mate,

Unfortunately you can not use NTSC games in a PAL GameCube. This means that you will not be able to use games from the US or Asia in your machine.

cheers,

Chris

You sure can ! .. with the help of a magical disc called the freeloader, which allows you to play imports on your PAL gamecube.

You can find it from importer shops like www.play-asia.com (hong kong based) or www.realgamer.com.au, who both send stuff to Australia.

Hope it helps

You could import games from the UK, however, as they are in the same PAL region as us.

An example of one Cube game available in the UK but on Australia is TimeSplitters: Future Perfect. I was so looking forward to that game, too...
