Subject Title - " Doom 3 arrives 4 PC August 3! It could arrive early 4 Xbox too? "

A little oldish (lastweek) but still worth including:


Yahoo . . . . looks like we get an early release ! . . . . well we hope so ?


Well that is . . . when you consider that Doom 3 is doing a World Wide Release on August 2-3 for the PC, there's the added possibility that the Xbox version, might be shipped at the same time ? ? As several reports state that the PC version and also the Xbox version could well arrive earlier than expected. lets hope so eh!

"ID Software CEO Todd Hollenshead issued the news on his .plan today that gamers have waited what feels like an eternity for: "IT'S DONE!!!!!!!" Yes, Doom 3 is officially gold and on its way to manufacturing.


He was also able to provide some details on the all important topic of release dates. In the U.S. where they can get the plants to run 24/7 retailers will be able to pick up their shipments at 12:01 AM on Tuesday, August 3rd. Officially, the street date is Thursday, August 5th, but speedy retailers may have it on their shelves before then. International distribution will follow as quickly as possible. The U.K. can expect to see it on or about the 6th with everyone else looking at a Friday the 13th of August date to allow time for localization and manufacturing.


Like the Super Bowl locker-room show, Hollenshead graciously thanked everyone at ID, Activision and their many partners before announcing that the champagne was flowing and smiles abounded all around.


Let the PH34R begin!"

Trust you get your copy just soon as I do. No doubt it will be one of the best games to run on the Xbox. We'll see more PC based games coming to the Xbox, as developers see the advantages of spending the time to build game specifically for it, rather than simply porting them, which makes for a much better game all round.
