I am currently playing the first Deus Ex - just picked it up a week ago!
I am quite interested in getting IW (for xbox). I have played the demo on Xbox, and looks really good! The whole inventory and interface is much easier to manage! (Great graphics too!)

But ...

Are there any other good FPS games coming out on Xbox before July 9?

I will appreciate any feedback.

They're not FPS but Breakdown and Full Spectrum Warrior have caught my eye.

If you like Deus EX take a look at Thief III.

Yeah Full Spectrum Warrior looks great ... but it is quite repetitive offline - well that's what I heard at least ... but it makes sense!

Ful Spectrum Warrior is Out Now, and it's a dowesy (great game) I pick mine up tomorrow from The Games Wizard in at Broadway Shopping Centre Sydney (best Games Wizards shop BTW) It is a real treat and has Excellent reviews for all over, bith here and OS, so you won't go wrong there.

Get Shadow Ops: Red Mercury, it's also an excellent FPS . . Drops you right in the thhicck of it at the beginning, no pussy footing around, you learn on the hop and that's it. So be prepared to get killed several times at the start, it just happens.

It is a great game so sick with it. I have a Demo disc if you want to try it out first. Willing to mail it to you if you like. "Might"?? be able to get a few more form my frind at Games Wizard or Atari . . yes, have a few connections.

Put Riddick on your "Must Have List" as it is a definite Halo contender, it won't beat Halo, but come close to giving you a taste of what Halo is like. But the action is strong, fast and the terrain is awesome. The graphics are very good and the game play is also great.

Go to your local Games Wizards (no I don't work for them) and ask for a "Demo DVD" (not a game disc, but a demo DVD wich shows actual game footage, NOT cut sceens . . okay)

Any reason that July 9 is so important BTW . .??

I have some others to look at, wil keep you posted.

Cheers . . . . Merlin53 . .

No problem. I have several games to list down, and shall do so soon. However, I now have my copy of FSW and it's definitely one of the best war based stratergy games that I have experienced on a console todate.

It is NOT a FPS, was never ment to be one and can't be called one by any stretch of the imagination. To be honest YOU don't shoot ANYONE . . . your team does does all the shooting, and their Ai is self motivated and they will act on their location, cover and formation, independantly

It's your job to ensure both Alpha and Bravo team members come out of the scurmish's safe and well. You need to "plan you defence and attack" you have a GPS to aid you in viewing your terrain and surrounding areas, so you can out flank the strongholds. lay down cover fire while the other team advances and visa versa.

The cursors/indicators for moving your teams are great, they show you where you are at all times, both "in view" and "behind obsticals/buildings etc without actually seeing them.

It is a definite "Must Have" for those who love stratergy and war orientated game play.

I think those who are really into the blood and gore and those style of "shoot-em-ups" games like Shadow Ops: Red Mecury etc, will not get much satisfaction from this tittle.

It will definitely appeal to those who do like to plan their attacks, those take their team members health and safety into consideration, and use your brain instead of flat out gun power.

There's no big gun updates, or superballistic weapons etc when you go up a level. Just a style of soldier for each weapon and they use it to their best abilities in the fighting. Similar to the Conflict desert Storm style, but you can't assume the role of any particular soldier parsee.

Very forward thinking AI and this is great.

It will take you all 4 MOUT sessions. It's proberly a good idea to go through the training sessions a few time. This will help a great deal, so that you become accustomed to your enviroment and making the commands needed to conrol your 2 teams. Learn some basic real life methods and the results of those methods on your teams. etc

All in all, an excellent game from what little I have seen of it so far . .

Definitely get this one and dedicate some serious time to it, you'll be gald you did in the end. What are your views if you have started it at all. Be great to read what others may think.

Cheers . . . Merlin53 ;-)
