It was announced at the Games Developers Conference that the Nintendo DS will be going online later this year. Not many details were released aside from the announcement that Animal Crossing DS will be taking advantage of the feature. I'd imagine that you could visit anyone else's town provided you're both in compatible Wi-Fi hotspots.

That idea sounds great, but they would need to make the game so that it can be played offline just as much as online.

No way. MMO are meant to be played online .. why would you want to play offline ? all the fun to the game would dissapear. Their would be no one to do quests with .. or party up in offline mode. All it takes is for some korean developer to make a free MMO game for the DS

I think it is good that Nintendo are embracing online play . it would be cool if they got The matrix online on DS

With the Revolution being Wi-fi enabled right out of the box, do you think that the DS will be able to use the Revolution as a Wi-fi hotspot to connect to the DS Online service?
