Subject Title - " Since most people are importing the PSP..... "

I've read in forums lately that most people are either importing their PSP's or are buyin them from stores that currently import it. My question is that, will people wait for the PSP's inevitable late launch here in Aus? Or will most of us start saving for those eagerly anticipated next-gen consoles (Insert name here, and here and also here)?. I mean, rumours there are that next-gen consoles could be launched as early as September. Because by the time the PSP is released here E3 would have passed by and next-gen release dates would have been confirmed, if the PSP doesn't release here on May like some suggest.Besides if the PSP were to sell poorly here, it's prolly a wake up call to SONY to take PAL regions more seriously. Speaking of which..how come it takes so long to convert it NTSC to PAL? And also that PS3 pic is said to be a fake one. I read it somewhere on another website which i might not be allowed to post here.

I dont know about other people but im going to wait for the PSP to launch here.

And even then i dont know if i could be bothered to go out and buy one.

I see too many flaws in the PSP's future.

Think reason why it takes long for NTSC to PAL conversion has got to do with language translations of games .. as PAL territory covers all of europe and australia. Plus the game has to be converted to a different frame per second frame rate .. Though it give developers time to fix up any bugs and put some extra stuff that US and japanese people missed out on.

PAL and NTSC are irelivent on the psp because it has its own screen and the we are getting it late is because they cant make enough to met the demand

I dont think that the PSP will have much of a market in Australia because of 3 reasons:

1- Many average teenage Australians wouldn't be willing to fork over around $400 (approx. price i have been told) for a handheld system when they could buy a NextGen console for around the same price.

2- There has been little to no coverage or advertisements of the PSP even to say that it is coming soon.

3- Releases of NextGen portables and consoles are given little to no recognition in Australia because companies beleive that we dont have a large market for consoles or handhelds, but we do!

these are just my theories, you can agree or disagree with them but I don't care. I am putting my opinion out there and letting people know the ways things seem through the eyes of a gaming LEGEND!!!! (in my mind anyway)
