Is there anyway to play foreign games on an Aussie Xbox?

Is there such a thing as Freeloader or Action Replay for the Xbox?

Don't believe there is, but I may be wrong. Only way I know is by chipping your console.

They are gonna trade in a chipped console, to whom EB, and get what $25 dollars from it .. it will be a long time till that happens. Best bet is probably to check ebay.

Yes there is such a things Action Replay which you can get from Toy-R-Us for around $AU99 or less.

SOME NTSC games can play on your PAL machine. How do I know, I have done so. A fried works for Atari and she brought home a NTSC Demo disc that the Atari Reps use, which is just a normal Disc btw, no special formating etc.

Anyway, I simply popped it in and away it went. No hiccups or messages etc. It was "Magic The Gathering - Battlegrounds, and is clearly marked NTSC on the top right hand corner.

I believe it was due to the fact that SOME units are Multi-regional. I haven't had that confirmed, but that sounds right to me. My TV is Multi-Regional, but it's the PLAYER hardware (Console/DVD drive) that deals with the media that determines what will and will not play.

So YES - the Action Replay is the cheapest way out of it.

I'm going to check on some newer consoles to see what happens with this disc and I'll get back to you. Ring around the stores and see if any have the Action Replay. I know EB's and Toy-R-Us do stock them.

IMPORTANT NOTICE - REMEMBER:

That chipping or Moding your Xbox in ANY way, blows any waranty you may have. I have several Xbox's and personally can't see the reason to Mod it anyway. The 10gig HDD is adiquate for ALL my games. I have a total of 29 games, 27 of which have different levels of game play stored on the HDD, and there's STILL heaps of room left.

I'm not talking a few saves here and there, 2 Splinter Cels, Both V8 Supercars, PGR, Halo 3 times trhough different levels, the Conflict serie, Crimson Skies twice through etc etc etc.

Using MP3 Files for music cuts down the files sizes DRAMATICALLY on music, and that way you can store HEAPS of music if that's you bag. Using Pirated software is also illegal.

AND - if you want to play LIVE On Line, then MS servers 'currently' have software that detects Modded Xbox's and disconnects them from their Servers. They will be introducing even stricter controls when they 'upgrade' the online service in a few months.

This will make using Modded Xbox's even harder, as SOME can, and do get On Line Live currently, but MS is working on that. So that modded Xbox's will be eliminated from there as well.

Ultimately, it's YOUR choice. If you don't really need to, then don't mod it. If you can get Action Replay, then do so.

It's a software disc that allows you to change Regions and copy code for a game which will allow you to use it on another format. It's an "emulator"

Here's a link to help you out.
