So whats the gossip with Alienware? Does anyone here own one? Can anyone tell me if they are worht buying?

I have an Area 51 Notebook which I paid around $6K two years ago. It is now broken and Alienware don't answer their phones or respond to e-mails to get it fixed. It is still under warranty.

I ordered an Aurora 9700 for around $6K from them 5 months ago. I still haven't seen delivery of this and it is now out of date and no longer available.

If you want to pay todays prices and get delivered (eventually - maybe?) yesterdays notebooks at extremely high prices with no tech support then Alienware may be a company you might care to deal with.

On performance, apart from graphics, they are nothing special. Hyped up & overrated.
