I don't think its a console -
Probably accessories...
If not, I'm still not going to get it -
it means I wasted my money on GameCube!!!

not really bloodwolfx - the cube is heaps cheaps.. so are the games everywhere.. and it has a lot of great exclusives.

the cube is a great idea for an additional console for those who already have boxes or stations.

At the moment Nintendo are planning on making a 3rd system to complement the Gamecube and Gameboy Advance. This system will be announced at the E3 show in the US this year. This system will not be the successor to the Gamecube. But yes Nintendo are also currently working on the successor to the Gamecube currently dubbed the N5 as its the 5th Nintendo Console release. Expect this out in 2005 around the same time as the PS3 and Xbox 2

NINTENDO ANNOUNCES DUAL-SCREENED PORTABLE GAME SYSTEM

“Mystery Product” to Launch Later this Year

Nintendo announces the end of year launch of a new portable game system with two monitors, the Nintendo DS (temp). By adopting two TFT LCD’s in a vertical position as well as two CPU’s, the Nintendo DS will provide unprecedented and brand new interactive entertainment experiences.

Today’s announcement is just a glimpse of the additional features and benefits that will be shown in full at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in Los Angeles in May. Once fully revealed, players will see the innovative advance in game interaction.

From information made available today, players can look forward to being able to manage their game progress from two different perspectives, enhancing both the speed and strategy of the challenge. For example in a football game, you can view the whole game on one screen, while simultaneously focusing on an individual footballer’s tackle or goal on the other screen. Players will no longer be forced to interrupt game play to shift perspective, such as moving from a wide shot to a close up, or alternating between a character’s ongoing battle and a map of their environment. Nintendo DS makes it possible to perform the tasks in real time by simply glancing from one screen to the other.

Satoru Iwata, Nintendo president, explains: “We have developed Nintendo DS based upon a completely different concept from existing game devices in order to provide players with a unique entertainment experience for the 21st century"

Nintendo DS features two separate 3” (75mm) TFT LCD display panels, separate processors, and semiconductor memory of up to 1 Gigabit. It is scheduled to launch worldwide before the end of 2004. In addition to Nintendo developed software, the company is in discussions with third party game developers around the world.

Nintendo DS will be marketed separately from the existing Nintendo Game Boy Advance portable system and Nintendo GameCube home console.

I have no regrets when it comes to consoles. I love my GCN and GBA! I think the DS will be connectible to the N5. Im wonderering if Dual screens will be a good gameplay thing?

it'll be hard to pull off, like getting the gaming crown back off sony and microsfot they better do wonders with the n5. I hope they keep the cube controller, or slightly modify it, cause i think it is fantastic

Damn..
Why did Nintendo create GameCube without Internet Play?
And GameCube was released long after PS2, thats why it has lower sales then any consoles.

BloodwolfX gamecube does have internet capablity in the states although currently the only game to use it is Phantasy star online state side. You can download the warppipe program which allows you take your lan compatibale games like mario kart online, its called warppipe. I'll let you search for it yourself.
As for the releasing late yes nintendo should release at the same time as its competitiors. As for poor sales figures if you pay attention to the international news you should know that nintendo had great sales over the holiday period in many regions, being the clear cut winner on the canadian market.
