The NTSC format is used on ALL games in the USA, Canada and South America. It is a rating laid down by the National Televison System Committee in the US.
The NTSC Format actually stands for National Television Standard Code. The majority of the world ie:- UK, Europe, Australia, New Zeland etc etc, uses the PAL format for both DVD's and Games on either Nintento, PS1&2, Xbox etc etc.
Usually you can't play a NTSC format disc on a PS2 or other game consoles, and to do so you need a product (disc) called Action Replay.
It allows you to run different formats (Regions) on such things as PS2 etc.
I have afriend who works for Atari, they often get Demo disc's (not for sale items only) to play, she got a copy of Magic, The Gathering - BattleGrounds and is NTSC format.
Out of curiosity, I thought I'd drop it into my Xbox to see what actually happens.
And blow me down, it loaded, played and did all it was suppossed to do, without me havingto use and other program such as Action Replay, which you MUST use on PS2.
So I am goingto try and locat another NTSC formated game and see if it plays also on my Xbox. I'll keep you informed.
Anyone else had similar experiences with NTSC, good or bad.?
